Judybrook USA is proving to be much more slow going than my last two books. I basically am building a town from scratch in a cornfield. I have to stop and research things all the time – for instance, how many acres do you need to build a town?
I am now stuck on a company name. I really cannot go too much farther without coming up with an acceptable one. I had a good one in mind, but it is taken already.
My last book THE STICKING POINT, was based entirely on my own life experiences. Well, not the details of the main character’s life, but definitely the setting. It takes place in the airport and because I have worked in the airport, I know the place. I didn’t have to do a whole lot of research.
Research sort of kills the writing flow. Can it derail this project before it really gets going? I don’t know, it’s not as fun if you’re not actually inside the head of your main character?
